I've know many people who bemoan sinus problems, runny eyes or digestive problems. And I always tell them the same thing..."Dairy can cause these symptoms. Why don't you try eliminated dairy from your diet?"
I get responses such as, "I can't do that," or, "i'm too old to start now," or, "It must be something more serious than dairy."
Last week I had dinner with my almost 88 year old friend. I noticed she asked the waiter, "Does the sherbet have dairy in it?" "Why are you asking, Dorothy?" "Because I saw Dr. Cherie (My chiropractor and co-author) and she told me that if I cut out dairy my nose would stop running and my cough would go away." My only comment was "Welcome to my world."
Well, after just one week, sure enough, the symptoms disappeared. At 88 years old, my friend was willling to do something different in order to feel differently.
Yesterday one of my golfing friends said, "I saw a gastro-enterologist and she took me off milk. My digestive problems went away.." She mentioned it to me because we had this discussion months ago.
The moral of this is that it's never too late to feel better, rid your body of aches and pains, and get healthier. Before you close your mind to alternative, natural therapies, like cutting out wheat or dairy, or eating ginger, or drinking green tea, try it. It's so much better for you than the medications that can cause serious damage.
