The LPGA tournaments are usually shown, if ever, on The Golf Channel, when nothing else is available, including the Web Tour and the Champions Tour. Forget about networking broadcasting. And the purses are usually a couple of hunderd thousand, which pales when compared with $10 million for the PGA Fed Ex champion.
This week the network 'took a gamble', as it was reported, by televising match play of the PGA. Not only are few of the charismatic stars like Tiger and Rory playing since they got knocked out the first day, but match play is as exciting as dirt.
How about taking a chance on a LPGA tournament instead? And are you aware that there is a ladies' senior tour, like the men's Championship Tour? It's called the Legends Tour, because golf legends like Amy Alcott, Rosie Jones and Nancy Lopez participate.
