Now we hear that Paula has Type II diabetes. Duh! I know young kids and teen agers feel invincible, "It will never happen to me," but putting all that fat and salt into your body is like taking small amounts of poison each day. The outrage is not only that Paula has diabetes, but that she was diagnosed 3 years ago. Her excuse, "You know,as you age.." and "It's in my DNA". Poppycock!
We have so many youngsters now diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. It's because they are eating unhealthy school cafeteria food, and when they get home, the family either goes to McDonald's or makes high calorie, high fat meals. When will we stop killling out children?
Obesity is the worst epidemic we've encountered since the ravages of polio in the 30s and 40s. But we have the antidote-good nutrition! Buy your food in the perimeters of the supermarket. That's where the fresh stuff is. Eat grilled or broiled meat, not deep fried. You don't have to turn into a fanatic like me, just use a little self-control and instead of instant gratification, look forward to living on into your seventies and eighties, full of energy, disease free and looking foward to the next 30 years.
